New Zealand is one of the most beautiful countries in the world.

New Zealand is an island country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. The country geographically comprises two main landmasses – that of the North Island, or Te Ika-a-Maui, and the South Island, or Te Waipounamu – and numerous smaller islands.

10-DAY NEW ZEALAND YACHT CHARTER & ITINERARY SAMPLE:

DAY 1: Arrive Auckland International Airport..You will be welcomed as you leave your scheduled aircraft right at the gate, escorted through a priority lane and transferred, along with your luggage, to your private vehicle and driver. Travel time to the yacht, moored in downtown Auckland City, is approximately 20 minutes. Your Captain and crew will welcome you on board and as you settle in will sail for a leisurely sunset cruise over to nearby Waiheke Island. A delicious dinner will be served on board that evening.

DAY 2: While anchored in the beautiful bay at Te Whau, Waiheke Island, take the opportunity to go ashore and walk the track up to the Te Whau Vineyard for a spectacular lunch and fine local wines, complemented by stunning panoramic views of Waiheke Island and Auckland City beyond.

DAY 3: Set sail to Great Barrier Island and on arrival experience all the natural beauty of this relatively untouched island with its crystal clear waters. Crayfish are in abundance, your crew may even dive for some of these succulent delicacies and prepare them for your enjoyment later that day!

DAY 4: Sail back to Auckland harbour via Rakino and Rangitoto islands while viewing the numerous islands that dot the harbour, each with their own unique story. Following lunch on board, arrive in to the Auckland Marina where you will travel in your private car, with driver, to the Auckland Domestic Airport terminal your 45-minute flight* to Huka Lodge. Transfers by helicopter can also be arranged on request. The Huka Lodge is considered to be one of the finest small retreats in the world, Huka Lodge has been sought by discerning travellers since it was founded in the 1920s. It is located in the heartland of the central plateau which is richly forested, bordered by snowcapped mountains and dominated by the magnificence of Lake Taupo. 3pm arrive at Taupo Airport where you will be met by a member of the Huka Lodge staff and transferred to the property. Enter the gates and 17-acres of manicured grounds and great natural beauty awaits, with the Lodge nestled on the banks of the Waikato River, upstream from the mighty Huka Falls. Orientate, settle in to your riverside Junior Lodge Suite and later on wander over to join fellow guests in the Main Lodge Room for pre-dinner drinks and canapés. Attentive staff will show you to one of the many romantic and unique private dining venues to be found at Huka Lodge for a gourmet five-course dinner.

DAY 5: After a relaxed country breakfast your helicopter awaits on the lawn to take you on an adventure to remember – The White Island & Mt. Tarawera Experience. Your skilled pilot will take a scenic flight path towards the coast and flies you over the sea to the actively volcanic White Island where you will land and explore this surreal landscape before flying back to Huka Lodge, via the summit of Mt. Tarawera!

DAY 6: This may be the day to head to the Great Lake and try and catch that trophy-size rainbow trout that Lake Taupo is so famed for. Board your private boat at the marina for this half-day excursion and cruise the waters of Lake Taupo, enjoy trout fishing, lunch on board, crisp, clear air and spectacular scenery, with skilled local knowledge to ensure you make the most of it all. There are many activities to enjoy nearby during your stay at Huka Lodge – superb golfing, guided nature walks, white water rafting, kayaking, horse trekking etc. Within the Huka Lodge grounds there are swimming and spa pools, petanque and croquet courts, with massages and beauty treatments available on request.

DAY 7: Transfer from Huka lodge to your flight either by domestic flight or depart right in the lodge grounds by Helicopter directly to the Bay of Islands –Kerkeri Airport. You will be collected by your private driver and car and transferred to Paihia, a drive of approx. 40 minutes. Your Captain awaits you on the jetty and transfers you to the yacht anchored in the beautiful bay of Russell.

DAY 8: Explore The Bay of Islands, this famed beauty spot has 130 square miles of sheltered water, studded with more than 86 islands at sub-tropical latitudes, making this a cruising destination known worldwide. Relatively little has changed in 200 years since Captain Cook’s first visit. Sparkling cobalt blue seas, edged with long silvery beaches, sub-tropical forests and towns immersed in history and charm. The historic townships of Opua, Waitangi being the most fascinating of these.

DAY 9: Wake up in a beautiful bay, all to yourself, and take the tender ashore for a morning walk on the pristine clean beach, Marvel at abundant marine life, where our cruising could get you up close to dolphins, whales and other regular visitors. An incredible opportunity to swim with dolphins in their natural environment in the warmest waters in New Zealand.
